Section 210 of RA 7160
SEC. 210. Duty of Official Issuing Building Permit or Certificate of Registration of Machinery to Transmit Copy to Assessor. - Any public official or employee who may now or hereafter be required by law or regulation to issue to any person a permit for the construction, addition, repair, or renovation of a building, or permanent improvement on land, or a certificate of registration for any machinery, including machines, mechanical contrivances, and apparatus attached or affixed on land or to another real property, shall transmit a copy of such permit or certificate within thirty (30) days of its issuance, to the assessor of the province, city or municipality where the property is situated.

For purposes of ensuring that all buildings located within the local government unit are declared for taxation purposes, building officials are required to submit to the Assessors regularly listings and copies of the building permits. These listings will be match with the declaration made by the owners of the buildings.
ReplyDeleteThe Assessor should be cautious for buildings declared by the owner where there is no attached building permit. If this is not given importance, assessment of new buildings will not be accurate:
ReplyDelete1. The effectivity of the building will be left to the discretion of the owner.
2. The construction cost as declared by the owner may not be accurate.
